1. Is there a Math subject in HUMSS?
A: Yes, you will still encounter Math if you’re in HUMSS. General Mathematics and Statistics & Probability are core subjects that all Grade 11students are required to take.


2. Are there limited job opportunities under HUMSS?

3. Do you always read and write in HUMSS?
A: Generally, yes, a good amount of reading and writing is involved. However, these are not the only things that HUMSS students do. 


4. Is confidence all I need to survive in HUMSS?
A: Definitely not. As a HUMSS student, you will always be put on the spot, however solely relying on confidence will not get you that far. Critical, abstract, and logical thinking are essential skills that a HUMSS student needs to enhance. Although confidence is helpful in completing tasks and reducing stress, it will not determine your success in the strand.


5. Do I need to be a skillful public speaker to survive in HUMSS?
A: Public speaking is a skill that can be developed through time. What matters more is how you understand and apply the knowledge that you accumulate everyday.

6. Is HUMSS easier compared to other academic strands?

A: Each strand has its own specialization in a certain field, therefore it’s unrealistic to compare the difficulty level of each strand to each other. HUMSS has its own level of difficulty depending on the subjects being taken. HUMSS generally deals with social science or the patterns of people’s behaviors and interactions and how they affect every sector of society. Therefore, there is no definite and secured basis of studying social science because people are bound to change constantly.
